Rava Ladoo/Rava Laddu

Rava ladoo/Rava Laddu is one of the easiest sweet that can be made in less time at home.My mother used to make it very often at home during diwali season.I love the coarse version of the ladoo and not the powdered form of ladoo.HH loves these ladoos and it is his favourite sweet too..So I do make it very often at home when guests visit us...I love the white colour of the ladoo. It is one of the best homemade sweet delicacies...

INGREDIENTS

Makes: 15

1 Cup of Rava/Sooji
3/4 Cup of sugar(granulated)
3-4 Tbsp of ghee
1/4 or less cup of hot milk
2 Tbsp of cashewnuts
2 Tbsp of Raisins
A pinch of cardamom powder

PROCEDURE

Add a Tsp of ghee.Fry the cashews and raisins.Keep it aside.

Fry the rava/sooji in the same pan by adding a tsp of ghee.Fry it for few minutes.Cool it and grind it in a mixie.U can make it into powder too.But I prefer them to be little granular in size and so I grinded it into semi powder.

Transfer the roasted and semi powdered sooji to a mixing bowl

Powder the granulated sugar.Add it to sooji.

To it add cardamom powder, roasted cashews, raisins and also melted ghee(about 2 Tbsp).Mix it well with the hand

Add hot milk to a portion of the rava mixture and mix it.Make tight balls and store it in an air tight container.Instead of milk u can also add melted ghee and mix it.

HANDY TIPS:

  • U can add ghee and make balls instead of milk. When u use ghee the shelf life of the laddoos are more than that of addition of milk.
  • U can also add grated coconut to the mixture and make balls.
  • Rava/Sooji can be powdered nicely if u love the powder type of laddoos.
  • Instead of sugar u can add condensed milk too to enhance the taste.
  • U can also make sugar syrup and then mix the rava in it and make balls.
