Mutter Paneer Masala

Mutter Paneer masala is a  north Indian curry made with mutter(Peas) and paneer(Indian Cottage cheese). It goes well with Jeera Pulao and Roti. When my kids wanted a different paneer sidedish I go with this recipe. Those were the days when I used to go to restaurants to taste paneer recipes. Now I cannot believe that I can make more yummier recipes than the one that they serve at restaurants..These dishes are so easy to make and u can vary the amount of ingredients according to our taste...When u make it at home u have control over the amount of butter and cream added to the gravy..

Try this yummy restaurant special recipe and have it with hot phulkas/Jeera Rice

Handy Tips:

  • Instead of fresh cream u can use thick milk
  • Paneer after sauted is added to water to make it soft
  • If u are using dried peas then soak it overnight and then pressure cook it
  • While cooking peas add little bit of salt
  • U can add 1/2 tsp of coriander powder too.
  • U can avoid adding the chopped onions while making the gravy. As i love the crunchy taste inbetween i added. If not saute it,grind it and add it
  • A tsp of sugar can be added while saute to give a slight sweet taste to the gravy.

  1. Hi,
I made this and it turned out amazing. It does taste like the restaurant. I used tofu, I am sure the paneer would be way better. Just a few questions if you can help. How much water did you put in, and you didn't use any salt? Also, at the very end, after I was cooking everything together, what heat do you put it on because most of the creaminess evaporated? Thank you so much for this recipe.
